Winter 2021 Take-home ACT Practice Exam
(for students of Wayzata High School)
January 30th - 31st, 2021

Studies show that more practice leads to higher ACT scores. See the instructions for the exam below:

Due to school restrictions amid the COVID-19 pandemic, we have a new method for students to practice the ACT exam. As we cannot allow groups of students inside the school, students will instead register online, pickup their physical exam and bubble sheet on January 30th, and complete the exam at home on their own.

Online registration window: 1/14/2021 - 1/29/2021

Exam pickup: January 30th, 9:00AM-11:00AM;
There will be a table outside at the entrance of the high-school. As long as you registered online, you will have an exam and pre-filled answer bubble sheet awaiting you on this date. You will simply pickup your practice ACT materials on this morning, and will then complete the exam at home (following the instructions listed in your handout of materials).

Exam return: January 31st, 1:00PM-4:00PM;
After picking up your exam materials on January 30th, you will then have an entire day to complete the ACT practice exam at home, on your own time. There are instructions contained in your materials that describe how to time yourself and take the exam. When you have completed the exam, you must bring the completed bubble sheet back to the school on Sunday, January 31st.

Scores returned: February 1st, by 5PM.
Results will be emailed back to students by 5PM, February 1st. Remember, the deadline for returning your completed exam is Sunday, January 31st, at 4PM CT and we will ensure we get your scores back to you by 5PM the next day.

What materials / items can students use when taking the exam at home?

1 pencil, 1 calculator (there are no restrictions on calculator models -- all calculators are allowed)
NOTE: calculators will NOT be provided if a student forgets! There is a Math section that will be much more difficult in the absence of a calculator.

Can I submit the results of this practice exam to colleges?

NO! While the exam itself is identical to a real ACT (content, format, and structure), the scores themselves are not eligible to be submitted to colleges.
This practice exam is used only for practice purposes! The advantage of this practice test is two-fold: first, it is less than half the cost of the real ACT. Second, students will be able to review their results and review each and every question they answered incorrectly.

Where does my $30 registration fee go?

A few places: first, the tests themselves along with the bubble sheets. The tests are about 55 pages each! Then, we have a handful of assistants helping out prepare the exam, get materials ready, and of course, answer all questions throughout this process. . Finally, the software to score the exams themselves and return the results quickly.

How can I get the registration fee waived?

We want all students to be able to take this practice exam. If you need financial assistance to register, please contact us directly: Email max@actpracticetest.org
